Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Book! My book review for March is for the book: “Say Goodbye to Survival Mode; 9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your Passion for Life”, written by Crystal Paine, published by Thomas Nelson.  This book really appealed to me as in the past couple years I've experienced huge growth in my photography business and have felt at times, well overwhelmed. I really appreciated Crystal's honesty, especially in her book intro about how this book isn't for everyone, and how each suggestion and idea isn't necessarily for everyone's situation. However I found for the most point that she gave some great tips and reminders on how to become more self disciplined, how to set and keep goals, how to manage your time, money and home, how to experience less stress and more joy and how to keep a balanced life perspective.  One part of the book I really enjoyed was where she talked about SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound). She broke it down really well and I've been using this to do my goal setting.  Overall, I loved reading this book. It has some great life organizational tips and is very easy to understand and implement the ideas. This book is on my shelf in my office, and I plan to reference it when I can. I give it a 5 out of 5. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book at no charge through’s Blogger Review Program in exchange for my honest opinion of this book. I was not required to submit a positive review, opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Say "Yes!" to your best! I got an advance copy of this book just when I needed it most! I read it within a week, and what a change it has made in my life already! As I first started reading it, I started laughing, "When did Crystal ever come to my home." And yet, as her story unfolded, her down-to-earth style offered hope to me that I might actually be able to start living my life better. After reading the book and starting to implement some of the ideas, I was able to navigate the Christmas season plus a season of illness with much more grace and much less stress. I found the time to have fun with my children, and I even managed to do some major decluttering. I've started taking a closer look at my to-do lists and eliminating anything that doesn't help me. And I've once again started to implement a more concrete morning routine, which sets the tone for the rest of the day. The concept of "time doesn't just expand limitlessly. When I say yes to one thing, I must say no to something else," p 10 made such a huge impact on me. Now, I can look at each task or opportunity that I face and make a decision knowing what is the best for me and my family. Crystal's book is full of practical advice and tools on how to stop the constant struggle to keep up. She tackles priorities, goals, time-management, discipline, finances, self-care and so much more. And she coats it with grace, reminding us in the final pages to treat ourselves with kindness. If you think that you need help and hope for your life in any of these areas, this is the book to get. And even if you feel like your life is in a pretty good place, I still think that you can benefit from this book. There is always room for improvement, and Crystal has some wonderful tips and pointers that make this process easier and more streamlined.
