“Katniss and Tris would approve.”—TeenVogue.com

The night Quin Kincaid takes her Oath, she will become what she has trained to be her entire life. She will become a Seeker. This is her legacy, and it is an honor.
As a Seeker, Quin will fight beside her two closest companions, Shinobu and John, to protect the weak and the wronged. Together they will stand for light in a shadowy world.
And she'll be with the boy she loves--who's also her best friend.
But the night Quin takes her Oath, everything changes.
Being a Seeker is not what she thought. Her family is not what she thought. Even the boy she loves is not who she thought.
And now it's too late to walk away.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Had high hopes DNFing it halfway through, but I decided to just finish the rest because I already read most of it. First thing that I noticed was the world it was set in. The world is mash-up of the future and science fiction in a medieval like setting until you get to the middle part where you're not in Scotland anymore but in Hong Kong. I just didn't know if it was because they were in rural Scotland or if it was done on purpose. So I was pretty confused when they would have these complicated weapons and they lived in such small homes with very little electricity. There are also several points of views and once you get used to it then it gets easier. Also the second half of the book is where all the action and "story" is. I kind of felt that the first half could be skipped, because it would have been loads better if we were lost just like Quin is when she loses her memory. It would have been interesting, it would have pulled the reader in. Another thing I noticed about the writing style, it's all about the telling. The character does this, the character does that. There's hardly any thoughts or emotions the character goes through. And there's no story or plot. I thought it was all about becoming a Seeker and then after that was over in the first few chapters, nothing sort of happened. We only get pieces of what a Seeker is and I only assumed they were assassins but I can't even tell because I got no clear cut explanation. This also reminded me of Cloud Atlas where there was no story-line, just characters living their daily lives. I don't think the first half of the book really sets up anything at all, just makes you know things the characters don't. Seeker had potential, but I wasn't a fan. I wanted the story to start from the get-go, but it didn't.
