"Great fun!" - The Miami Herald Named one of Time Magazine's top 10 graphic novels for 2013! Suzie's just a regular gal with an irregular gift: when she has sex, she stops time. One day she meets Jon and it turns out he has the same ability. And sooner or later they get around to using their gifts to do what we'd ALL do: rob a couple banks. A bawdy and brazen sex comedy for comics begins here, by Matt Fraction (Satellite Sam, Hawkeye) and Chip Zdarsky (Prison Funnies, Monster Cops). "On the surface, this is a hilarious story of two people, Suzanne and Jon, with the power to stop time after they orgasm, and then rob banks while (almost) everyone else is frozen in time, which is an amazingly original idea. But underneath that, this is a story of the beginning of a relationship: its exciting newness, its terrifying possibilities, its ups and downs, its secrets and understandings, and, of course, its sex." - PW

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like bad sex, underwhelming and disappointing I don't get this. Was it supposed to be funny? Wait for the jokes, it's coming, it's cumming, wait for it, so we're constantly told. Maybe thrilling? But nothing really happens in this volume, and I don't see much more happening beyond more sex and bank robberies and running from the time-freezing sex police. So prove me wrong, Volume 2. The illustrations didn't appeal to me either, so while I really liked the creatively erotic plot of "Sex Criminals," I found it utterly underwhelming and boring. I count myself to be a pretty sexually-liberal person so it wasn't a matter of not liking the content or being squeamish over it - it was just tackily done (glowing penis, really?), and sometimes a tad bit demeaning and stereotypical. Furthermore, it tries too hard to be smart and witty, and while it hits the mark a handful of times, it mostly comes across pretentious and childish. I don't know. It's the first volume so the groundwork has to be laid, I'll give it that much. Still, I'm not impressed. Guess I'll go rub one out myself and hope my time-freezing adventures are more interesting than this.
