A young adult debut from internationally bestselling author Harlan Coben

Mickey Bolitar's year can't get much worse. After witnessing his father's death and sending his mom to rehab, he's forced to live with his estranged uncle Myron and switch high schools.

A new school comes with new friends and new enemies, and lucky for Mickey, it also comes with a great new girlfriend, Ashley. For a while, it seems like Mickey's train-wreck of a life is finally improving - until Ashley vanishes without a trace. Unwilling to let another person walk out of his life, Mickey follows Ashley's trail into a seedy underworld that reveals that this seemingly sweet, shy girl isn't who she claimed to be. And neither was Mickey's father. Soon, Mickey learns about a conspiracy so shocking that it makes high school drama seem like a luxury - and leaves him questioning everything about the life he thought he knew.

First introduced to readers in Harlan Coben's latest adult novel, Live Wire, Mickey Bolitar is as quick-witted and clever as his uncle Myron, and eager to go to any length to save the people he cares about. With this new series, Coben introduces an entirely new generation of fans to the masterful plotting and wry humor that have made him an award-winning, internationally bestselling, and beloved author.

Follow Mickey Bolitar on his next adventure in Seconds Away, coming out in Fall 2012!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great book! I really enjoyed this book! I picked it up at a book fair a little while ago and didn't really know what to expect, but I quickly found myself obsessed with it. It's an easy-read that's full of suspense and plot twists. I highly recommend it!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay... I expected this to be much better. The summary sounded much more interesting and I did want it to be interesting, I really did. I was shocked with the outcome. It ended up being a boring book that really didn't have a clear concept. There are a lot of good reviews on this one, and of course I expected it to be good, in fact, amazing. I was definitely disappointed with the slow moving plot and boring events. Mickey was... absurd you could say. He thought differently than most. I don't have much to say and I'm pretty speechless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shelter Shelter is an okay book. I had no trouble connecting to the lead character, Mickey Bolitar, but I didn't fully understand what the author was going for. I mean, yes, it's a good book. But I feel that it's lacking some sort of suspense. Some parts of it wasn't very realistic, and I couldn't get a picture of most of the scenes in my head. I also had trouble with the ending, and with all the different facts about Mickey and his father and the butterfly sign... anyway, it was hard to keep up with. Overall, a good book. But, I must say that i'm glad i borrowed it from the library rather then buying it at Chapters.
