about

For one night she had everything.

Pro snowboarder Stella Lazarus has always loved her brother's best friend. But the one time she tried to show him, she was shot down faster than you can say "competitor disqualified."

Until one blissful night in Tahoe, when Stella finally gets her man.

Or does she? In the morning, Stella and Bear wake up to horrible news. The sort that sends them racing back to Vermont, and straight into the arms of guilt and family obligations.

For all of Bryan “Bear” Barry’s life, three natural laws held true: his best friend Hank was destined for greatness, Hank’s sister Stella was off-limits, and Bear would always manage to negotiate the rocky paths that life threw his way. In the space of two days, that’s all shattered.

Bear can't believe he slipped up so badly with Stella. Even if his best friend wasn’t lying broken in a hospital bed, it would still be unforgivable. Determined to do better, he devotes himself to his friend's recovery, denying himself the very person he loves. And the very thing he needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slow Burn This was a slow burn (maybe a touch too slow for me) but still a great story and character development. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sexy friends to lovers romance! This contemporary romance, third in the Gravity series (easily read as a standalone though there is some overlap with book 2 Falling From the Sky) is the story of Stella and Bear. They forged a friendship in early childhood, one that now that they are adults Stella wishes could be more. When they indulge in one night of pleasure, forgetting about everything but examining their sexual attraction to each other, it creates a strain on their friendship. Then Hank, Stella's brother and Bear's best friend is injured, and all bets are off as the two of them must deal with this tragedy. Will it draw them closer together or keep them from admitting how deep their feelings for each other really are? I really enjoyed this story. Told from dual points of view, you get a real sense of both the main characters and what drives their actions (and reactions). Stella is a feisty, no-nonsense go getter type of girl (well, except when it comes to revealing her deep romantic feelings for Bear). She has to fight for acceptance from her parents and her sponsors as she makes her way up the snowboarding charts. Only Bear seems to understand her and her motivations as he too is under over achiever Hank's shadow. Bear is wonderfully portrayed as a friend, comrade and loyal to a fault man. He tries hard not to examine his feelings for Stella, preferring to keep her strictly in the 'friend' box until she overwhelms him with a night of passion that he can't say no to. Bear's feelings of inadequacy stem from a difficult childhood and the knowledge that he will never be good enough for Stella. As the story progresses, Bear must deal with these feelings and learn to view Stella as an adult who knows her own mind and no longer as the kid sister of his best friend. I loved how dedicated Bear was to his friend Hank as he deals with his injury. He's a really good guy and as the story progresses you get the sense that he is finally able to see his own self worth. He and Stella have great chemistry and the romance between them was sexy and believable. 5 stars for another great read!
