Brian and his friends are not part of the cool crowd. They're the misfits and the troublemakers-the ones who jump their high school's fence to skip class regularly. So when a deadly virus breaks out, they're the only ones with a chance of surviving.
The virus turns Brian's classmates and teachers into bloodthirsty attackers who don't die easily. The whole school goes on lockdown, but Brian and his best friend, Chad, are safe (and stuck) in the theater department-far from Brian's sister, Kenzie, and his ex-girlfriend with a panic attack problem, Laura. Brian and Chad, along with some of the theater kids Brian had never given the time of day before, decide to find the girls and bring them to the safety of the theater. But it won't be easy, and it will test everything they thought they knew about themselves and their classmates.

Praise for SICK
"The gore and action will leave enthralled readers thrilled and then sated with each kill on either side."

"Between the pacing and the heroes' salty, blue language (full of lovingly creative, genital-inspired insults), reluctant readers who love zombies will devour it, right up to the abrupt end."
-Kirkus Reviews

"Sick is well written, with great detail, even if it is a little gory."
-VOYA Magazine

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sick by Tom Leveen A pretty SICK zombie book. A jaw hangs loose from its skull, a fist-sized hole in a throat gapes wide, facial skin slides away from the bone and kids go and be like cannibalistic lawn mowers while corpses of students litter the sidewalk. This is how graphic it gets and it was quite entertaining especially with the easy to read, funny at many places writing amplified by the pages of the book blotted out with blood-like splatters at their edges. It’s quite creative and it certainly achieved its very purpose, that is to crumple the reader’s face.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I liked this book. Though the reviews have been so so on this book, I actually really enjoyed it. It kept my attention, and kept me invested in the characters. I sent me on a hunt for like books, so it did its job and fueling my desire to read. #plumreview

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my thing. Maybe Twilight ruined this book for me, I don't know, but I found it really hard to get past the sparkly zombies. Plus, Brian and Chad came off as jerks, I couldn't keep a lot of the characters separate in my head, and some of the slang sounded... off. I mean, I read this book all in one sitting, and some of the chapters had killer cliffhangers, so the author did write a really gripping story. But apart from that, this book just wasn't my thing.
