Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully easy to follow - and delicious results I've never been able to 'master' the art of East and South-East Asian cooking, even though I'm a pretty rock-solid cook for any other type of cuisine (I can rock a chana masala). Unfortunately, I stayed away from attempting certain delicious Thai recipes thinking I'd fail as usual. Then, I picked up this book at the store, flipped through it a bit, and the instructions were so incredibly easy to follow that I could actually see myself cooking every one! I am so happy I bought this cookbook. I've had it for about 4 weeks now and I've tried - and successfully created - about 9 or 10 of the recipes in this book. Each one has been delicious! I also found that the ingredients are incredibly easy to find, especially because the author explains what can work as substitutions or how to buy certain produce/pastes/particular ingredients. There's also enough variety in the recipes, from easy to more time consuming, that you can really pick and choose based on what's in your fridge and what you can spend more time on. For example, the Thai Salad Rolls were a lot of fun to make, but took a little more time and care than a quick and easy weeknight curry noodle dish, but they were really, really delicious and I'm sure I'll be faster at making them with practice. Great, great book for those people who love Thai food but may be a little freaked out attempting to replicate fabulous restaurant meals at home...this book will help you make amazing food!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent as a lover of authentic thai food, this is a great cookbook. All ingredients are readily available in most grocery stores, and the recipes are simple to follow. I have not made on dish from this book that we didn't love. Highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best! I'm a cookbook freak. This is, hands down, the best Thai cookbook I own. In fact, it's one of my favourite all time cookbooks. My copy is doubled in size from use (spillage factor), but I have bought several new copies as gifts since the first edition. Try the usual favourites along with the panang nuer, garlic shrimp, spicey eggplant and the banana fritters. If you like Thai food and cooking, you're going to love Simply Thai Cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from you'll feel like a Thai chef when you try dish I bought this book about 10 years ago after hearing a review from the owner of a cookbook store. The recipes are easy to follow, and if you are not sloppy in following the recipe, you'll be surprised at how delicious your food turns out! you won't need to go to a Thai restaurant for awhile. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scrumptious Surprise This has now become my main cookbook for Thai cooking. When I discovered that Wandee was behind the foods at my favourite restaurant when I was in Toronto in the 80s, 'The Bamboo', I was quite excited! Although I have moved on from Toronto, I can continue to enjoy my favourite dishes. I particulary recommend the chicken wings and the Pad Thai...great served with the peanut sauce as a topping. All the recipes are very well laid out and her overall tips on Thai cooking very helpful.
