Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some great recipes! Worth a read...but typos! I have a few favourite recipes from this book (the wild mushroom risotto is fantastic) but I have noticed a lot of typos in this book. A lot. The last two recipes I made had a) bell peppers in the instructions that were not listed under ingredients, and b) two cups of cauliflower listed under ingredients, but "add remaining two cups" (should have been 1 C) written in the instructions. It can be confusing, but if you read the recipe ahead of time (as one always should) and note these typos, you can still make a good job of it. I haven't had a recipe turn out badly because of this, it's just annoying and quite frankly begs how this got past the editor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good at a glance, not the best recipes I am a whole foods, soy-free, mostly plant-based eater and I find this book contains too many tofu recipes. Also, the meals look good in the pictures, but many of the recipes are not that simple to make (with wayyy too many ingredients) and out of the whole book there is maybe only one or two recipes I actually use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Plesant Surpise! My husband surprised me with this book on the recommendation of the staff. Truth be told I never would have looked past the cover on the store shelf but I'm so glad he gave it to me! I am in love with it, the recipes are simple with easy to find ingredients. Kim hasn't lost any of her charm in this book and it's not an in your face vegan cookbook, it's great for beginners just testing it out or someone more seasoned looking for fresh ideas. I enjoyed the addition of other celebrity vegans/health freaks and their recipes. Over all a great vegan addition to any healthy eater's kitchen.

Editorial Reviews

"Leave it to Kim Barnouin to come up with the spiciest cookbook of the season; and we're not just talking about taste. . . . Where Barnouin shines is in her easy to understand overview of problematic ingredients . . . her analysis of everything from global fish depletion to the truth on organic foods is actually well worthy of serious consideration and finally proves that eating healthy can actually be fun.", 1/12/11
