Holy guacamole! Meet the #1 New York Times bestselling Skippyjon Jones!

Skippyjon Jones is no ordinary kitten. Oh, no. . . .He's actually El Skippito, a great sword-fighter ready to battle banditos the world over! With a little imagination and a whole lot of fun, this frisky cat dons a mask and cape and takes on a bad bumble-beeto to save the day. And along the way, he'll be sure to steal young reader's hearts, yes indeed-o!

My name is Skippito Friskito.
I fear not a single bandito.
My manners are mellow,
I'm sweet like the Jell-O,
I get the job done, yes indeed-o.

*"Both feline hero and story are full of beans (more Mexican-jumping than pinto) but ay caramba, mucho fun."—Kirkus Reviews, starred review

"Buoyant and colorful cartoon illustrations match the exuberant text perfectly."—School Library Journal

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! Read this book to my Junior Kindergarten class... it was a bit long for some of them, but they ADORED it! They loved the rhyming and the silly, yet imaginative, adventure that El Skippito went on. Make sure to read it over ahead of time and practice your voices! I am buying the other four books in the series and making Fridays our "Imagine with Skippyjon" days. A great read!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Cute but my otherwise attentiive to books 4 year old seemed distracted while I read this book What a great book, but I think some of the language is a tad difficult for a 4 year old to understand, prepare to get tongue tied, with all the rhyming in the book. I think it is for a 5 to 6 year old who has a sense of humour! I sure got a kick out of it and I am 37!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inspires Creativity Schachner's Skippyjon is an inspiration for any child who has ever pretended to be someone or something else!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clever Children's Book This is a great book for any parent to read to their child and for any teacher to use as a read aloud in a classroom. The book tells the story of a Siamese cat who thinks he is a Chiuhuahua. Skippy Jon Jones gets himself in to a lot of trouble as a Chiuhuahua!!! This book has many Spanish words and has great illustrations by the author. A must read for the young and the youg at heart!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent book Meet Skippy Jon Jones, the siamese cat who dreams of being a chihuahua. Join Skippy as he travels to Mexico and joins the Banditos. This book is hilarious, a favorite for both me and my child.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So funny! My 4 four-year old and I have so much fun with this book. Definitely a book meant to be read out loud. Have fun with the accent beesness(!) for loads of laughs. A definite classic for anyone who likes silly books and wordplays.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hilarious! We are headed to bed to read Skippyjon Jones for the third night in a row. It's not really a good bedtime book because when it is read out loud with the appropriate energy and accent it is hilarious. It's too much fun to be relaxing and sleep inducing. My seven year old says if she were in charge of book awards this book would get one.
