What’s an amateur PI to do when she falls for the man she’s investigating?

Tori Whitley might be the world's worst snoop.

As a favor to her private-detective cousin, she's supposed to investigate Seahaven businessman Grady Palmer. From afar, not up close and personal. That’s impossible now that he’s spotted her.

So what’s an undercover PI to do when she starts falling for her subject? Especially because corruption’s afoot and Grady’s keeping almost as many secrets as Tori. Should she trust the clues – or her heart?

"Snoops in the City is a fun romance, with some suspense and a mystery intertwined. The developing relationship between Grady and Tori is enjoyable to watch, and the secondary romance is as good as the main event." -- RT Book Reviews, Sept. 2004

"For a fun and enjoyable tale, as well as one that keeps you guessing, pickup Snoops in theCityl." -- Romance Reviews Today, Sept. 2004

Rated 2 out of 5 by from snoops in the city Silly story. Couldn't wait to finish it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slightly silly comedic romance It's a good thing that the characters in this book evolve with the story, or I'd be vehemently complaining that this writer is very sexist. As it happens, the two main female characters evolve only *just* enough to make my overall review positive. When the story opens, the female lead, Tori, has haphazardly embarked on a new career path as a PI after having lost job after job. The male lead, Grady, is the subject of her first PI job. The subplot involves Grady's younger sister, who makes Tori look like a Wall Street banker by comparison. Essentially, the woman are either directionless and ditzy (as above), or successful bitchy like the mayor character. Heaven forbid that a woman be competent and actually nice also! As I said, at least the characters do evolve though the story, and so Tori and Grady's sister (I already forgot her name) do "grow up". Overall, the story is an implausible good-guy-looking-like-a-bad-guy-because-he's-running-a-sting-for-the-FBI plot. Yes, one of those. Fast and easy read. A few editing issues, not the least of which is a scene between Grady's sister and her love interest, Wade, when the text suddenly refers to him as "Grady". Ya, she's not going to be in a hotel room in a tight black dress to hand champagne to her *brother*
