In celebration of Mother Teresa's beatification in October of 2003, HarperOne is proud to present a new edition of the classic work that introduced Mother Teresa to the Western world. Something Beautiful for God interprets her life through her conversations with Malcolm Muggeridge, the quintessential worldly skeptic who experienced a remarkable conversion to Christianity because of her exemplary influence. He hails her as a "light which could never be extinguished."

Malcolm Muggeridge was a world-renowned author, lecturer, and broadcaster.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Beautiful Biography This biography of Mother Teresa’s life is humbling, inspiring, disillusioning, and unsettling. Muggeridge’s sceptical intellect and struggle to believe is perfectly counter-balanced and finally outweighed by Mother Teresa’s confident belief in her God and total surrender to His will in her love for the poor. The book will especially be of interest to men and women interested in writing and faith. For example, Muggeridge reflects: “…there is a prayer of St Augustine, a fellow communicator who once called himself, as I must, a vendor of words, that I often say over, and did on this occasion, kneeling beside Mother Teresa: ‘Let me offer you in sacrifice the service of my thoughts and my tongue, but first give me what I may offer you.’” The brief but intimate look into one of the most inspiring lives of the past century through the vision of one of its great minds and communicators, will leave you wanting more pages to turn over once the book is done.

From Our Editors

No woman alive today has inspired so many with her faith and a compassion so all encompassing. As she daily embraces the least of the least in her arms, Mother Theresa challenges the whole world to greater acts of service and understanding love.
