Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Encouraging! What I loved about this book is the difference in attitude and perspective that is normally conveyed about childbirth in our society. It is very informational without adding to the fear of childbirth that most people have.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's Alright, If You Keep Context in Mind The book is great, but you have to keep in mind the statistics may be a little off, since The Farm only accepted low-risk pregnancies. Ina May has also made some comments in the past regarding women that don't sit well with me. The book is okay though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spiritual and informational It is important to remember that midwifery is a modern health profession and expands more than what Ina May imposes - childbirth should have no shame attached, no matter the decisions the woman makes. I love the stories she shares, and her ideologies of well women care!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Encouraging and Empowering Another book by Ina May, her first and yet another excellent resource for learning about normal birth. This edition still includes lots of great stories about the origin of The Farm. I’m quite sure that Steven (Ina May’s husband) would consider me to be a ‘pansy ass’ — his language, not mine. The end of the book contains lots of easy to understand explanations about what your body goes through as you deliver the baby.
