New York Times and USA Today Bestseller

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Wait for You and Be with Me comes a daring tale that pushes boundaries . . .

At 21, Calla hasn't done a lot of things. She’s never been kissed, never seen the ocean, never gone to an amusement park. But growing up, she witnessed some things no child ever should.   She still carries the physical and emotional scars of living with a strung-out mother, Mona—secrets she keeps from everyone, including her close circle of college friends.

But the safe cocoon Calla has carefully built is shattered when she discovers her mom has stolen her college money and run up a huge credit card debt in her name. Now, Calla has to go back to the small town she thought shed left behind and clean up her mom’s mess again. Of course, when she arrives at her mother’s bar, Mona is nowhere to be found. Instead, six feet of hotness named Jackson James is pouring drinks and keeping the place humming.

Sexy and intense, Jax is in Calla’s business from they moment they meet, giving her a job and helping her search for Mona. And the way he looks at her makes it clear he wants to get horizontal . . . and maybe something more. Before Calla can let him get close, though, she’s got to deal with the pain of the past—and some very bad guys out to mess her up if she doesn't give them her mom.

#1New York TimesandUSA Todaybestselling author J. Lynn lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. When she's not hard at work writing, she spends her time reading, working out, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, and hanging out with her husband and her Jack Russell terrier, Loki.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great This is the first book I read by this author. I didn't realize it was a part of a series until I was deep into the book, but that is ok, it works well as a standalone, too. Much better than a typical romance novel, it has mystery and intrigue. The male lead in the book is a too-good-to-be-true, but becomes a little more flawed as the novel goes along - that's ok, it makes him seem more real. Interested to find the other books now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review from This is the Story of My(Reading) Life This should really come as no surprise. I effing loved Stay With Me. JLA is my queen. My dealer. My everything. Honestly how this women publishes a book a month and can still write pure gold like this flabbergasts me. There was not a single thing, nothing at all that was not perfect in this book. And guys, you need to meet Jax. Good God does JLA know how to write fictional men. If anyone has given me unrealistic expectations about men and love, it's her. My fictional boyfriends always have this big fight over top position when I first meet a new JLA guy. But there is no kidding around with Jax. He's given Cam and Roth a real punch in the swoon. So we got a glimpse of Calla in Be With Me and I was definitely excited to know she was getting her own book. Calla has herself on a strict schedule and timeline. The big one is finish school and get a good job. She keeps a tight budget. It seems like she's got her life figured out. The scars on her face and body(which of course are hidden) are what keeps her from really living her life. Her friends tell her she's beautiful but she can't believe it. It holds her back from pursing boys and having a real social life. When her dead beat mother cleans out her bank account and she finds herself having to head back to her home town to get the money back and deal with her mother life really gets turned on its axis. Calla heads right over to her mother's bar and this is where we are introduced to Jax. *sigh* There is an instant attraction. Jax sees her for herself. He doesn't play games. Doesn't bullshit her. He's right on her case, in her ear, telling her she's beautiful. She needs to stop putting herself down because of a scar. She isn't her past or her scars. Calla was a bit naive. At twenty-one she's never been in a relationship, never been kissed. But what I loved is she asks for help. Because of the situation she finds herself in, her life is in danger. And when she's threatened rather than thinking she can handle it herself she tells Jax right away. Way to go, Calla. It doesn't matter how strong a person you are, when your life is in danger people need to be in the know. I love Jax and Calla together. They're super adorable and intense. Jax is so patient with her. The guy is just hot. As an ex-marine he can be a little manly, if you know what I mean. But he never is over bearing. Jax is just such a nice guy. Upfront and no BS pretty much makes him beyond perfect. And very fictional. I'm already planning my re-read of Stay With Me. Again, being a JLA book that shouldn't be a shocker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic J. Lynn with romantic suspense thrown in! I should know by now I'm going to fall in love with the characters in a Jennifer Armentrout (J. Lynn) book by the end of the first chapter. It's inevitable. Calla won me over first, but Jax wasn't far behind. Not only are the characters wonderful, but the story always is too. She always manages to do justice to the situations and challenges the characters find themselves in. It was really easy to fall in love with Calla and Jax. I fell for Calla first and her I-will-find-a-way-out-of-this-mess attitude her mother dropped her in. I don't know if I would be that strong if it happened to me. I would be a mess, but she only let it momentarily phase her before she went looking for answers. Of course she didn't find the ones she was looking for but instead found more questions and lots of trouble she didn't deserve or need. Thankfully Jax was there to help her out with the mess she found herself in. I loved how he saw all of Calla and liked what he saw. Calla had lots of issues to deal with and the way he helped her work through them was totally swoon worthy. I liked how honest and upfront he was with her when it came to his attraction to her. I mean it totally shook her up, but it was good for her. It goes without saying Jax and Calla had amazing chemistry. You could see it and feel it whenever they were together. I loved how the book portrayed the importance of family, both blood and that forged by life and friendship. Whether it was Katie, Roxy, Uncle Clyde, Avery, Teresa, Cam, and Jase being there for Calla or Reese and Nick for Jax, it really felt like these two who'd always been outsiders found people who cared for them. I've got to say the romantic suspense aspect was written really well. There was hardly a dull moment in this book. Scratch that, there were no dull moments in the book. There were lots of surprises and heart pounding moments though. From the first page to the last page, I was hooked. I think I read the book in just under three hours. I couldn't help myself. And let me talk about the feelings for a moment. You know how when you're reading and you're into the story, certain reactions become instinctive? Well I had plenty of those moments where I either burst out laughing or was in tears. Neither Jax nor Calla have had easy lives and as they shared their painful pasts, it was often impossible for me to hold back my tears. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book with Roxy and Reese. Their chemistry in this book was palpable and I have no doubt Jennifer Armentrout is going to blow my mind once again. She's managed to keep each book in this series fresh, independent of each other, and yet closely bound as well. Like I said, the woman has mad story telling skills. Pick up Stay With Me and see for yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HOT! This is definitely another New Adult favorite in Jennifer's Wait for You series! I did not put it down! Jax is the perfect male lead who will make you swoon and drool for him during some parts of the book. I love how Calla created the "Hot Guy Brigade" featuring Cam, Jase and Ollie. It was fun to see all my favorite characters again to see an update. But when Jax arrived he totally went up on that list. I really got to love Calla and how she was insecure about her life but you get to see her character grow. She is very independent and after finding out what is going on with her family. Her humor was so fun and quick that JLA's characters can make you laugh. Calla is someone I would love to get to know since she is fun, and smart. Then there is Jackson James who is one HOT specimen. *fans self* seriously this man will make you fall in love with him the first time you get to meet him. He definitely can run Cam, and Jase for their money of how hot they are. Jax is so sweet and caring that he would do anything for Calla. He does have a past of his own but that is why they get a long. It was great to see everyone back in Stay with Me. Calla and Jax were awesome but it was great to see more characters like Katie, Ollie, Roxy, Reese and many characters that were in previous books in the series. (be on the look out for a certain couple to make an appearance!) Jennifer did a great job weaving them back into the story! The plot pulled me in immediately and it progressed so quickly that I read it fast. It was the characters, humor and this amazing plot that there was mystery and suspense that can even make you cry! I feel like re-reading this series all over again after reading Stay with Me. So much love I feel for this book since it and experience and relate to Calla. Overall, Stay with Me was perfect and I love this book so much!! Add this book you your TBR lists right now!
