Two thousand years ago, Rhys was the fierce Celtic warrior branded by the Romans as the Bringer of Death. Mortally wounded in battle, he was captured by the Fair Ones, cunning and powerful masters of the Welsh faery realm. They spared his life…but for a price.

As a child, Morgan Edwards marveled at the faery tales spun by her beloved grandmother, stories of the magical beings hidden in the heart of ancient Wales. But now Morgan is all grown up, a veterinarian who believes only in what science can prove—until the night a massive black dog saves her from a vicious attack. Suddenly a stranger stands before her, the man of her dreams made flesh and blood, not by science, but by a magic that could bring them their hearts’ desires…or cost them everything they have.

Dani Harper is a former newspaper editor whose passion for all things supernatural led her to a second career writing paranormal fiction. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first book to the series I loved this book. It flowed so smoothly and just pulled you into the story so you felt like you where the characters. And what characters they were to. I loved Leo and Ranyon. Leo's a sweet old man who helps Rhys' out of a jam and becomes one of Rhys' best friends. Ranyon is an Ellyll a kind of a tree-type/Brownie creature that takes up residence in Leo's shed. Love the little gut he is so funny and can make a charm for just about anything. I loved how he set a charm on Leo's house that cleaned up his kitchen and totally flabbergast Leo to the point he has to back something and dirty it up so he feels comfortable in the room again because it's to clean. LOL I need a Ranyon in my life. The main characters are actually Rhys' and Morgan. Rhys' is a Grimm and he was sent to remove Morgan because she's seen as a threat to the fairies due to her grandmother being friends with the fairy queen. Morgan is a veterinarian who comes across Rhys while he is in Grimm form and thinks he is just a really big sweet dog that seems to be following her. I liked both of them and it was nice that their relationship slowly built up rather then the typical love at first sight sex at second. This is a great first book to begin a series with. Great writing and believable world building. Good job Ms. Harper. Was not given this book to review. I just caught my eye and I choose to write one. I highly recommend this book up for reading. It's a fun read. L.
