Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a good book! This is a great book if you are just getting into reading fantasy novels and you want something that isnt too much a fantasy novel, its a mix of fantasy but mostly reality, its set in the Isle of Arabia where imagination and dreaming is not allowed, and for either the penalty is exile or death.

From Our Editors

Two-time Governor General Award winner and internationally acclaimed author Monica Hughes is renowned for her fantastical flights into the world of fiction. The Story Box focuses on the far away island of Ariban, where imagination is taboo and stories are terribly dangerous. Colin, a young Ariban boy, fears for his younger sister`s life. Etta dreams vividly at night and sometimes wakes up screaming. Colin fears their father will send Etta to the elders for banishment. While on the beach one morning, Colin meets a stranger. She`s clutching a small chest bound with bands of pure brass. It`s the story box.`
