Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little brooding, but more realistic than most pony stories It took us a while to get through this book because it is not as lighthearted as most girl and her pony type books. This one deals with some strong emotions and difficult circumstances, but that is what makes it so good. If you read this to your daughter, you can talk about these emotions and talk about how she might handle the situations differently. Make no mistake, this is still a fun tale of a girl and her pony, but the level of realism in the text is unusual in this day and age of sugar coated fiction. We are looking forward to reading Winter Pony when it is released later this year.
