about

Twenty-two years ago, Sam and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. In the years after, their father, John, taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America...and he taught them how to kill it.

Sam and Dean have hit New York City to check out a local rocker's haunted house. But before they can figure out why a lovesick banshee in an '80s heavy-metal T-shirt is wailing in the bedroom, a far more macabre crime catches their attention. Not far from the house, two university students were beaten to death by a strange assailant. A murder that's bizarre even by New York City standards, it's the latest in a line of killings that the brothers soon suspect are based on the creepy stories of legendary writer Edgar Allan Poe.

Their investigation leads them to the center of one of Poe's horror classics, face-to-face with their most terrifying foe yet. And if Sam and Dean don't rewrite the ending of this chilling tale, a grisly serial killer will end their lives forevermore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This was perfect! This is the first time I have read anything from Keith R.A. DeCandido but I promise it will not be the last! This was the perfect introduction to the book series (which took me far longer than I care to admit to know about being a SPN fan) This had the perfect transition from the show to the novel (and it was SO helpful to know what episodes it was between so that I could have a correct timeline in my head) Wonderful Job!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great books! I love the books that go between episodes of the show...references are made in the show that are cleared up in the books. Recommend for fans of the show that just cant get enough of Dean and Sam being on cases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nevermore I love reading more then watching because books give inside and in depth view of a character but in this case I loved watching as much as reading. Sam and Dean were portrayed very well in the TV show. Highly recommended for a Supernatural fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting I thought the story was very interesting and I love the characters and how Dean flirted with the waitress and the bar. I really liked the way they showed Sam trusting the policewoman where Dean didn't which you kinda can't blame him. Since last time he was with a police woman he handcuffed him to the police car where he almost got caught by those two sons. Overall I would for sure read it over and over again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice rendition of the characters This is the second Supernatural book I've read and I must say I'm really enjoying it. The dialogue between Sam and Dean in my opinion is pretty much dead on to how they speak to each other in the show. I feel like I'm watching an episode. I can really picture their expressions and reactions to things. I've been a fan of the show for years and am pleased to find this book in particular to be very well done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Supernatural Rocks my Socks! As an already obsessed fan, when I found out that someone had wrote a TV Tie-in to my favorite show, I knew I had to get it. This book, as it states on one of the opening covers, takes place between second-season Supernatural episodes "Crossroad Blues" and "Croatoan". I believe that Keith R.A. DeCandido did a great job with this book. He used quite a few references to previous episodes in the season, as well as his own twists and turns. I also believe he did a excellent good job getting into the heads of Dean and Sam Winchester. Also, having a lack of new Supernatural episodes because of the summer break, this got me back in a good mood and excited for September when season 3 starts. If you're a fan of Supernatural, you won't be disapointed with Supernatural: Nevermore!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow I loved it...it was scary enough to keep me interested, but so not scary I couldn't sleep at night. I found myself laughing at a lot of stuff...I thought it was very well done.
