Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I liked this book; it was entertaining and made me want to know the ending. A couple good unexpected twists, yet some obvious relationship mishaps and get-togethers. For me, I'm not really into the whole "you can only have one true love" thing and then the protagonist has issues finding this one true love and gets all confused. I find it annoying and this book had that feel. I am glad I read it, but am not planning on reading the second one.

From the Jacket

There are no men in Claysoot.

There are boys, but every one of them vanishes at midnight on his eighteenth birthday.

The villagers call it the Heist.

Gray Weathersby is prepared to meet his fate. But when he finds a strange note from his mother, he begins questioning everything he's been told about the Heist . . . and what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds his primitive town, which no one can cross and survive. With no answers in sight, Gray must decide whether he should wait to be taken—or risk everything on the hope of the other side.

Editorial Reviews

“A dramatic work that is reminiscent of Lois Lowry’s The Giver and will appeal to fans of Suzanne Collins’s The Hunger Games.”
