Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy it! Read it! You'll enjoy it! Bravo to Susan Calder for her second Paula Savard mystery book, "Ten Days in Summer". I read her book in just a few hours, it was such "must read" material. Who knew that the insurance biz was both dangerous and exciting?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stayed up past midnight just to see how it ends Have been waiting for some years for the sequel to Susan Calder's first novel, Deadly Fall, to come out. It was well worth the wait. In this story, insurance investigator-sleuth Paula Savard comes across a suspicious fire at the home of a consummate hoarder. His whole family has a motive to see the man dead but the police can't prove arson (of course it's a murder mystery, so we KNOW it couldn't have been an accident!). It takes the full run of the Calgary Stampede to solve the mystery. Another fun read, especially for anyone who knows Calgary and the Stampede well. You don't need to have read Deadly Fall to enjoy the novel, but I enjoyed seeing the development of Paula and the recurring characters (family, co-workers, etc) in her life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real page turner A friend of mine recommended this book after I told her I was looking for a mystery with a female lead. I have to say, I couldn't put it down once I started. The book takes place over a 10 day period so the plot is very self contained and fast moving. Very satisfying resolution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Murder mystery during Stampede festival I read her first book, Deadly Fall, and really loved it, as it was set in Calgary where I live. This one continues the story of Paula, and includes excellent atmosphere of the Calgary Stampede, being set during the ten days of the Stampede festival. The Stampede is all encompassing in Calgary and the story line captures this well. The characters are well described and are very realistic. The excellent descriptions of places and events around the city add a great background to the mystery, and the resolution is satisfying, right down to the party watching the closing fireworks at the end. Be sure to read this, and the first book as well. I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this series.
