Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyed it, have to understand context though I purchased this book wanting to learn how Tim de-constructs things to learn faster. I like the DSS method mentioned and have applied it to complex things that I want to learn quickly. There is some cool random things at the end as well, such as how to shoot 3 pointers which I thought was a nice touch. The only negative comment I can say is I couldn't relate to cooking and going through how he learned to cook as the framework of his fast learning methods

He directed learning vis-a-vis cooking and breaks down the basics so that anyone can learn it. This is a massive comprehensive text that will leave you with the tools and tricks to be the best chef in your house. He simplifies the process and gives you the basics without the details of specific recipes and provides you the basis to be adventurous by pairing flavours that naturally work well together to be creative. Anyone who wants to expand their ability to learn and try new things should break into this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Book Tim Ferriss continues his 4hr series with this latest installment. I have enjoyed his last two books The 4hr Work Week and The 4hr Body. The 4-Hour Chef continues his same theme of "life hacking" with great an simplistic ways to not only learn cooking from scratch for the absolute beginner but gives guidance on efficiently learning how to learn. I give this a top rating for quality content and excellent value for money.
