Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from thought i would like it but... Girls on Film by Zoey Dean was a book I thought I'd enjoy since I liked the first two books of the popular Gossip Girl series. I was wrong. This book has great potential but it falls flat after the first two. Sure, the totally unrealistic plot is interesting at first, but about halfway through this one I found myself thinking that the characters and outcomes were totally predictable...which is good for most teen novels. The situations are very much like the OC, and mostly I didn't see the point of finishing it because I just didn't care about the characters. I couldn't relate to any parts of any of the characters, and I doubt anyone else could because of how shallow, plain, and stereotypical they were. On a last note I would like to say that the author is good at describing the sights in this book and can keep the characters conversations going but this talent is wasted on such a typical and predictable series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep on reading.... I loved this book! I have read the first book and this book fits right in with the first one. This book was great because you just can't put it down, and you can't wait to see what happens next! It was very realistic, with things that could and would certainly happen in real life. You get so interesting in Anna's (main character) life. It's like the O.C in a book, with a bit of Mean Girls mixed in. The people in the book are rich, young, and most of them are beautiful. What you come to realize through this book is that they all have flaws. Overall I loved the book and I would definately recommend it! I can't wait to read the next book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Truly Wonderful Modern Day Romance I just finished reading GIRLS ON FILM and it was one of the best books I have read in a long time. It follows the story of a young New Yorker named Anna trying to start her life over in Los Angeles by moving in with her father. She tries to escape her life in New York, but trouble seems to follow her wherever she goes. She becomes involved with a boy named Ben Birnbaum, and after he stands her up on New Years Eve, she can't stand the sight of him, yet she finds herself wanting him still. I don't want to give away anything, but let me tell you its brilliant and impossible to put down!!!
