about

Ever since an accident turned her into a knockout vamp, Elvi Black's been catching her z's in a coffin, staying out of the sun, and giving up garlic. She knows there's more to being undead than what she saw in Dracula, but she can't very well ask her mortal friends about proper biting etiquette. But when her neighbors placed a personal ad for her in the local paper, she never imagined she'd meet Victor Argeneau, a vampire who could have his pick of any woman—dead or alive.

Rich, powerful, and drop—dead gorgeous, Victor's the perfect man for a novice neck—biter like Elvi. He's willing to teach her everything he knows, but he'll have to do it fast. Someone's out to put a stake through her new vamp life, and only Victor can keep her safe—and satisfied—for all eternity.

Lynsay Sands lives in Canada and is the author of countless award-winning romances, including the bestselling Argeneau vampire series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Accidental Vampire I love how this is a light and laugh out loud kind of a series. It has suspense without being very intense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The accidental vampire I started this book and found that I cold not put it down. I am so had this story has a HEA. Victor deserves to finally have another chance and I liked how the author found a way to bring a good chuckle as how Elvis found out about vampires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Lynsay sands is one of my most favourite authors and this book is one of my favourites in the Argeneau and Rogue hunter series. I loved how all five men found life mates it was awesome, my favourite has to be DJ and Mabel though. It is sad when Harpers life mate dies but Drina is an awesome lady :-)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Story, But... Where were the juicy parts? I was a little disappointed that the fun didn't really start until more than 100 pages in. There was a lot going on in the story and the characters were awesome, but it wasn't very "romantic" if you catch my drift. Still, I plan on reading more in the Argeneau series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheesecake Emergency! Another entertaining story from Sands! Immortals ought to visit this Canadian small town in droves as it seems Victor, DJ, Edward, Harper & Allesandro were all able to find potential live mates among its inhabitants. I love this series of books for their enduring characters and humor, the mad dash to the 24hr grocery store when Elvi discovers that she can eat real food is especially funny! The one criticism for this book that I could put forth is that plot line in terms of the assassination attempts on the main character Elvi is relatively predictable & flimsy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Light and Entertaining Read The Accidental Vampire is an amusing story with great characters. It also gives a slightly different take on the standard Vampire Romance. Wherein the main characters are all in their 60's and the Vampires are decendents of Atlantis. This is also not a series that you need to read in order, which is great. It's nice to just pick up a book and not need a huge ammount of back story to know what's going on. Elvie Black was accidentally turned into a Vampire while vacationing in Mexico with her best friend. Upon returning home she watches Dracula in an attempt to understand how to live like a Vampire. She runs a B&B and is the star attraction at the local resturaunt where she gives birthday bites to the townsfolk. As her friends age they fear that she will be left alone and subsequently place a personals ad in the paper. This brings several sexy Vampire suiters into town all vying for Elvie's attention. One in particular, Victor Argeneau is an enforcer. Sent to take Elvie before the counsel as she is breaking the Vampire laws by feeding on humans and not keeping her immortal status a secret. Much hilarity ensues as all 5 suitors end up staying in the B&B over the following week, teaching Elvie how to be a Vampire. Two hilarious scenes stand out for me; one, after she learns that she can in fact eat, and makes a mad dash to the store in search of chocolate and cheesecake. (it's been 5 years) The other takes place after she's told that she doesn't have to sleep in a coffin. Elvie then takes all the men with her to purchase a new bed. The whole town becames a part of this amusing story as a comedy of errors results in someone trying to kill Elvie and Victor discovering that she might be his lifemate. A cute story that's an easy read. Recommended for a day at the beach.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Funny A woman is on vacation and she is mysteriously turn into a vampire, and she does not know how. To survive she relies on pop culture (Movies, Books) to tell her how she must behave. Not until the really vampire show up does she learn she is doing all wrong. I really enjoyed this book, it was very light and funny with amusing likable characters. it was a very quick read and was a nice change from the more intense vampire fiction i have reading lately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute and a little sexy, but could have been better. I liked this story. The characters were likeable and sexy, but the storyline was a little weak. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the plot twists. And the idea of there being that special someone came on a tad cheesy. Not to mention the authors take on the origins of vampires.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Was somewhat of a dissapointment i've seen this book a couple times and finally decided to buy it and read it. The plot sounded interesting on the backcover, but after reading the entire thing i was sadly dissapointed. I'm sorry to say that the plot was not all that great and at sometimes really stupid. However, if you want a semi good laugh read this.
