Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing! Carson's pamphlet, "The Albertine Workout" is #13 in a series of New Directions Poetry Pamphlets. In comparison to Proust's approx. 4,200 pages, Carson's vivid dissection of the character Albertine takes a slim 38 pages. Written in Carson's unique, forensic style, one can never read one of her works without learning extraordinary things. It is not simply the words, it is the elegant arrangement of ideas which makes Carson such an exciting read!
