Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sketches to Computers This was my second Disney art book to own. I am a huge Disney fan/geek/expert for all my life. I am the type of person that loves the concept art and sketches more than the finished product sometimes, so this book delivers. 160 pages full of character/environmental concepts, to facial expressions, lighting techniques, and of course designs for Rapunzel's golden locks. Some pages are filled with beautifully colored scenes and multiple pages feature an artist's take on several different poses. I highly recommend this Disney Art Book, it sure is not to disappoint. One of the treasure's of my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The character designs are stunning I bought this book quite a long while after the movie came out and learning in an interview that Glen Keane had quit Disney (making this his last film with the studio) As with other art books, there are sections on environment and prop design, story boards, reference gathering and the like but what I'm most glad about is the large focus given on the characters, it includes exploration of their designs, development of their special poses, expressions, even the rules in which rapunzel's hair is drawn, this is an absolute must have for anyone who'd love to see the visual development process, is aspiring to be a character designer and would love to have it for reference or are just a huge fan of the movie

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great artbook for the princess collection This hardcover contains the history of how the Rapunzel art direction and story came to be. Some of the text can get repetitive but that's not why you buy the book. It's a treasure trove of rare production stills, sketches, and notes from all the artists who worked on Rapunzel. The book is very thorough, it includes everything you possibly want to know about the designs, down to Rapunzel's "signature hair style".
