Now, the evil mage Morg is preparing for his most deadly assault. Desperate, trapped in a broken body, Morg has little time and fewer scruples. And he has a plan.

As Gar and Asher unwittingly fall into a dangerous deception, Morg gets ever closer to his goal. And this victory would be particularly sweet?for who better to destroy the kingdom than the two who would give anything to save it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHY IS IT OVER? This book was SO good #plumreview - WHY IS IT OVER? This book was SO good. Even better than the first book! For anyone who thought that #1 wasn't "exciting enough" this one definitely remedies that. The story picks up right after the cliffhanger ending from book #1 and is full of suspense and drama from the get go. I was on the edge of my seat or in tears for a large portion of the book, and finished it in 4 days. The writing was wonderful, the characters well developed, and the story full of surprises. 5 stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Engaging Great characters and kept you guessing until the end. Great setting and a worthy sequal to the other book.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ASHER I had a really hard time writing a review for this novel. This review is for both novels Innocent and Awakened Mage. Karen does an amazing job creating characters that are believable all the way to the depths of their hearts. Both Asher and Gar have important parts to play in this story and both characters a empathized with. That being said I certainly wished there was more "Bang For My Buck" in this novel. It is a fantasy novel, that did have enough fantasy for me. Both books led up to a climax that was only a chapter long. Which in turn left me wanting more of this world with no more story left. I wish more magic was used by the circle in this novel, but it was over all a GOOD book, with compelling characters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An excellent finale. Had to spend a few days thinking about how I felt about this book. It was excellent right up until the very ending where it sort of fell short. Like the first book in the series, The Innocent Mage, this book was very well written. Captivating, exciting, filled with emotion that actually brought me to tears. Not wanting to give up any of the plot I will only say that I found the ending somewhat brief considering the build up but it was good none the less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great book, everyone!! I have to confess that the reason to buy these two books at first was because of its attractive covers and the title (something to do with magic), but then i started reading i realized that this isnt really about those two things. Hidden deep inside these two books are the very elements we face today (racism, corruption, etc), at least it appears to be so from my point of view. Inside the book there are characters that make you feel pity for their ignorance and make you feel like turning into a monster and shred him into pieces and characters that make you want to worship them. Anyways, these two books are simply superb and attention grabbing.
