Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Berenstain Bears Learn About Strangers(The Berenstain Bears) Books are a wonderful tool for teaching children about the world and to give them the tools to survive. That doesn't mean that books need to hit children over the head with these important life lessons. This book teaches about strangers and I think that it does a very good job. I especially liked the safety tips at the end of the book. There are many words on each page and the length of the book might be too long for the younger children; so I would say second grade would benefit most from this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Message Our 3 year old is as friendly as they come. But it's to a fault now. Going to a busy park is a challenge at best but he has recently started walking along side daycare providers as they leave the park. One read of this book with him and he started telling us that he shouldn't walk out of the park with strangers. He's getting the message and that is reassuring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from *A Powerful and Incredible Book* When I read Berenstain Bears Learn About Strangers I was truly moved. The power and emotion elicited in the amazing words and phrases written by the author were beyond description. The characters and plot were developed so vividly...I can scarce put it down into words. Let me just leave you fellow reviewers with one phrase: I really did learn about strangers.

From Our Editors

When Papa Bear tells the cubs why they should never talk to strangers, Sister begins to view all strangers as evil until Mama brings some common sense to the problem. "The Bears' rules for safe conduct are listed on the last pages, including a rule about the privacy of a bear's body. A good book to start awareness in young children".--School Library Journal
