My husband made the best turkey that we've ever had this year at Christmas (due to his cook book present). Fantastic flavours and easy to execute recipes. Well done Michael Smith!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious and Easy Recipes This is my favourite cookbook at this time. I love the recipes becasue they are overall simple, easy, healthy and delicious. The freestyle variation for each recipes also provide ideas and options. So far I've made "Indian Rice & Dal", "Chunky Monkey" (excellent breakfast), and "Mushroom Miso Broth with Buckwheat Noodles" and I can't wait to try out more recipes.

I purchased this cookbook because it featured good old soups, stews,the perfect burger, how to roast, yummy desserts plus vegetarian, breakfast and seafood dishes that I haven't tried cooking before. If you are looking for far out modern dishes, you won't find them here. What you'll find is good nurturing, homestyle foods with easy to find and healthy ingredients.

I haven't even tried a recipe but already I'm inspired by the amazing pictures that accompany every recipe. It is every day things that everyone loves with Michael's creative inspiration to make each recipe our own - that I like a lot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome! I am a big fan of Michael Smith and enjoy watching his show, so as soon as I heard about this book, I knew I had to purchase it. I just received it last week and haven't cooked anything from it yet, but I have reviewed it and I am pleased with the way that he encourages you to take a risk and add something new to the recipe. I was also truly impressed with the fact that he crosses borders and boundaries and appreciates food from different cultures. The recipe for dal and rice reminds me of my childhood and I can't wait to try it and see how it turns out. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to cooks and chefs of all levels of experience. If you're a beginner, this will really help to boost your confidence with your cooking skills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A cookbook you will USE and LEARN from This is a great cookbook, with so many recipes that you will actually use, more than your average book. For the longest time, I'd record all the Chef at Home episodes, and now I have all the favorites collected in this book. I would definitly recommend this book to any kind of cook, beginner to pro, as the ingredients arent impossible to find, the recipes are easy to follow, and the food turns out great. Most of all, what Ive found with Michael Smith is that you start to make the connections in the kitchen with flavours that go together and how the foods all connect, allowing you to really become a true cook. Love it!

A picture for every recipe, and one recipe per leaf. Michael encourages experimenting with variations of each recipe, making it uniquely your own. No recipe would ever taste the same way twice!
