Ridge, Sardelle, and their comrades may have rescued Tolemek’s sister and freed the dragon, but trouble awaits at home.

The king is missing, a secret organization is hunting sorcerers, and the capital is more vulnerable than ever to enemy attack. Worst of all, at least from Ridge's point of view, someone put that jackass Colonel Therrik in charge of the flier battalion.

Ridge and his allies have a lot of problems to fix, but they can’t show their faces in the capital without being arrested or shot. This time, it’s going to take a lot more than magic to save the country.

The Blade’s Memory is the fifth installment in the Dragon Blood series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from another enjoyable installment Another great addition to an enjoyable series. This one is a bit darker and less humorous than previous books, as is appropriate for building to the climax of this series, and the situation becomes increasingly grim and dangerous. As always, Jaxi can be counted on for tension-breaking snark and pranks, as well as impressive pyrotechnics. Cas was starting to seriously worry me for awhile, and I hope to learn more of what she's thinking and how she'll deal with the consequences of what happened to her in this tale, as well as learn what Tylie and the dragon are up to now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Blades Memories Great story, with good thought out characters and a nice way to mix magic and steampunk. I hope to see more from this series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Running out of steam I think this series is getting a little tired now, the 1st 2 books (this is No 5) were very good but the interesting characters are now just sidelined in favour of the square jawed hero & his sorceress girlfriend. The "talking sword" is really annoying and overdone, the banter is forced and there is no real peril for our team to engage the reader, any hint of danger is quickly sorted by a bit of magic. Time for something new please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Simply brilliant . Another success for Ms Buroker. Lindsay's side projects between other books are better than some author's best efforts.
