about

Cameron Diaz shares her formula for becoming happier, healthier, and stronger in this positive, essential guide grounded in science and inspired by personal experience, a #New York Times bestseller.

Throughout her career, Cameron Diaz has been a role model for millions of women. By her own candid admission, though, this fit, glamorous, but down-to-earth star was not always health-conscious. Learning about the inseparable link between nutrition and the body was just one of the life-changing lessons that has fed Cameron’s hunger to educate herself about the best ways to feed, move, and care for her body. In The Body Book, she shares what she has learned and continues to discover about nutrition, exercise, and the mind/body connection.

Grounded in science and informed by real life, The Body Book offers a comprehensive overview of the human body and mind, from the cellular level up. From demystifying and debunking the hype around food groups to explaining the value of vitamins and minerals, readers will discover why it’s so important to embrace the instinct of hunger and to satisfy it with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Cameron also explains the essential role of movement, the importance of muscle and bone strength and why we need to sweat a little every day.

The Body Book does not set goals to reach in seven days or thirty days or a year. It offers a holistic, long-term approach to making consistent choices and reaching the ultimate goal: a long, strong, happy, healthy life.

Cameron Diaz made her feature-film debut at age twenty-one. Since then she has appeared in small-budget and blockbuster films alike. She supports numerous causes that advocate environmental concerns, education, and the empowerment of women and girls. Cameron grew up in Southern California and divides her time between Los Angeles and Ne...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Positive Perspective on Health In this book, Cameron Diaz offers a very pleasant a positive perspective on taking care of your health, body, mind & well-being. It is definitely worth the read and you may even find you come back to it a few times as well. She has always been fit which is why I was interested in this book in the first place but I was also surprised at the insight. It offers a great balance between "dieting" and the mental or emotional strength part of getting fit. Personally this is how I like to take care of myself as well. Easy to read and easy to enjoy. I would reccommend it to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Read This book is incredible and I am so glad I read it. This book is well written and extremely informative. The way she writes you learn what all the different healthy alternatives are and why you should be eating them. You learn to love yourself. Her book makes you realize the difference between the crazy fad diet and what actually eating and living healthy means. This book has been a big help to me. I would recommend to everyone!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good healthful read I actually really liked this book because I felt that it focused on wellness of the whole body. Yes, it did have a large component of diet but I feel that other books can focus more heavily on that which can be mentally exhausting at moments. Although it did have scientific information/diagrams, I feel that the average person could understand the information. I'm looking forward to reading the second book that has been published by Cameron Diaz. I felt that this book truly showed her authenticity and interest in health. This book is published for everyone but I definitely would recommend it to teenage girls that are just discovering and learning about the body.
