about

Cameron Diaz shares her formula for becoming happier, healthier, and stronger in this positive, essential guide grounded in science and inspired by personal experience, a #New York Times bestseller.

Throughout her career, Cameron Diaz has been a role model for millions of women. By her own candid admission, though, this fit, glamorous, but down-to-earth star was not always health-conscious. Learning about the inseparable link between nutrition and the body was just one of the life-changing lessons that has fed Cameron’s hunger to educate herself about the best ways to feed, move, and care for her body. In The Body Book, she shares what she has learned and continues to discover about nutrition, exercise, and the mind/body connection.

Grounded in science and informed by real life, The Body Book offers a comprehensive overview of the human body and mind, from the cellular level up. From demystifying and debunking the hype around food groups to explaining the value of vitamins and minerals, readers will discover why it’s so important to embrace the instinct of hunger and to satisfy it with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Cameron also explains the essential role of movement, the importance of muscle and bone strength and why we need to sweat a little every day.

The Body Book does not set goals to reach in seven days or thirty days or a year. It offers a holistic, long-term approach to making consistent choices and reaching the ultimate goal: a long, strong, happy, healthy life.

Cameron Diaz made her feature-film debut at age twenty-one. Since then she has appeared in small-budget and blockbuster films alike. She supports numerous causes that advocate environmental concerns, education, and the empowerment of women and girls. Cameron grew up in Southern California and divides her time between Los Angeles and Ne...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Perspective I was in to fitness when this book was released. It gave me so much more useful informatoin. The way she breaks everything down is realistic and useful information that I took in to my life. So tired of the fad diets and terribly incorrect information you see online. She breaks it down as to how to get from one meal to the next and this was so great to read a bit in to her background as well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay A decent read but nothing I couldn't get off of a proper blog site, Cameron seemed like merely an extra add on in my opinion. It was enjoyable while it lasted but I doubt I'll read it again. #plumreview

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worth a flip through I wasn't sure what to expect, but I didn't find this book all that helpful - interesting, yes though. Best for an intro into health and wellness for those just starting out. I was impressed by her candour though. She's clearly passionate about this topic and it shows.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from She's beautiful, who wouldn't consider what she has to say First off, have you seen the way Cameron Diaz looks. That was my first point of thought when buying this book, so of course I had to give it a shot. Like she points out in the beginning, this isn't a diet book, it's a healthy lifestyle guide! She is incredibly smart, she did her research, I would love for everyone to read this and maybe people could be more aware of what they put into their bodies.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from common sense "On a cellular level" is her mantra so it's fun to say. Yeah, the book has a lot of basic common sense so not like you'll be profoundly changed by it.
Date published: 2017-01-31
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Common sense... I found this book to have lots of "common sense" facts that most people would already know?
Date published: 2017-01-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great book. I bought this book not sure exactly what to expect. The book is well witten and does not use technical lingo. It is well written and answers a lot of questions that women want to know,, but may be too shy to ask. It is a very information and well written book. Great deal!
Date published: 2017-01-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'm mad at this book I should have know when I picked up this book, because it was "written" by a celebrity, but I had some hope. This is the most basic information you will ever read about your body. I seriously don't need Cameron Diaz to tell me where my vagina is.
Date published: 2017-01-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from loved it this book helped me so much

Date published: 2017-01-14
Rated 3 out of 5 by from You probably know this... I received this book as a gift and thought it was well done with beautiful pictures but it was really just full of information that most people know by now. Nothing new or special. I love Cameron Diaz but could only give this 3 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for the sale price I don't know if I would pay full cover price for this book, as this information in it is pretty generally well-known already. However I really like the positive perspective it is written from. No fat shaming here! Would be better if it was geared towards women AND men.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for! This book is an enjoyable, easy read while being very comprehensive on all things "body". It especially gave me just the right encouragement I needed to look further at hunger and nutrition with a new perspective. I really love this book and will refer to it often!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect and exciting advice on the body I have loved every page of this book as I flipped from one page to another. It is so informative and gets down to the point. The best part is the book is written as if you are in conversation with Cameron Diaz. It will change your perspective on why you exercise and give you a whole wide new meaning to loving your body. It's my first purchase on book about exercise and diet and I love it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this book! I truly loved this book. I have a health sciences background, so much of the science she discusses in the book I already knew; HOWEVER, I forgot how to appy the methods/ideas she presents, simply, to make me feel and look better. I have been in a rut for a while, and gaining weight, which lends to me not feeling good about myself, and Cameron helped me get back-to-basics. She reminded me how easy it is to feel good and make smart choices. I'm already seeing the change. AND, Cameron communicates in a easy fun way, so that it feels like you're having a chat with her, opposed to reading a whole "diet-heavy-how-dare-you-eat-that!" textbook. It's a good read and is helpful to boot. Good purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The body book I can't believe how much I have enjoyed reading this book so far. It trule is practical to the way people live or can live. Some of what is in the book, I have decided to implement in my own life.
Date published: 2014-04-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great advice we should all be following I was surprised by how much I liked this book. It's a very practical read that inspires. Mostly common sense advice, but written in a way that made me want to push myself to have a strong, fit body fuelled by great food. She takes it back to basics and makes not following her advice feel frankly silly. A great book for those needing a push.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cameron Makes Eating and Nutrition Make Sense! I love this book. I've been on a lot of diets - just happily following along with whatever was outlined in the diet. After reading Cameron's book how my body is fueled by food makes sense. It's beautifully written and sounds like you're having a conversation with her.

“Unlike other celebrities who are out there promoting juicing, fitness or slapping their names on wellness books they didn’t write or could care less about - Cameron is the real deal.”
