The Brick Bible series has taken the world by storm, and now, for the first time, Brendan Powell Smith's visually striking The Brick Bible: A New Spin on the Old Testament and The Brick Bible: The New Testament

are available in a beautiful hardcover box set. With over two thousand color photographs depicting the major narrative scenes of the Bible, this slipcovered set (including new material and a bonus two-sided, full-color poster) is the gift you’ve been wanting to give your LEGO (R)-loving friends and religious family members for holidays, birthdays, or just because.

Book one includes scenes from the Old Testament—the creation of the world, the temptation of Adam and Eve, the great flood, the presentation of the ten commandments to Moses on Mt. Sinai, and more. The Old Testament is a complex text, but Smith's "brick" illustrations help bring out the nuances of each scene and will make you reconsider the way you look at the Bible—and LEGO (R).

Book two offers a new spin on the story of Jesus. Smith portrays Jesus's birth, miracles, last supper, and death and resurrection with meticulous attention to detail. From the fate of Judas to the life of Paul and his letters to the Ephesians; from the first book burning to the book of Revelations, this is the New Testament as you've never experienced it before. Find a place on your shelf for this beautiful two-book collector's set and continue to be amazed at the Bible as illustrated by your favorite toy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deceiving This is not appropriate and should not be considered biblical. It is very deceiving. They make it look like it is a bible for children and while it looks fun, it is clear that the author/creator of this book is not interested in teaching our children about God. Woe to you! I returned the book to the store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for children; not for Catholics! This is marketed towards children but should not be read by any child under the age of 14. My son is a highly intelligent 11 year old boy and this was very difficult for him to understand. This is not an adaptation or biblical teachings in story format, this is a LITERAL depiction(with graphic photos) of the New and Old Testament. You can only imagine the questions that I was asked after viewing Revelations or some Old Testament books. The torture scenes involved private parts and circumcisions are depicted throughout the book. This could of been a great item for any children's library had he just told some stories and kept it simple. I question the authors intention to be quite honest. As a Catholic, this book is so completely off the road that I not only gave it away to a mission store but wrote a parental warning for anybody picking this up. I highly do NOT recommend this book!!! Go buy the ACTION BIBLE by Sergio Cariello.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended for young children At first I thought what a wonderful idea to have my son, 8 years old, read Bible stories that were in a Lego comic type format. He was drawn to all of the death and blood portrayals. He started asking questions about foreskins, adultry, etc. Not the sort of topics that a child should be reading about. The books needs to be rated for an older group.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Brick Bible is inspirational Being Catholic, I bought this book for my son.  It was the first time he was ever excited to look at a bible.  He just turned 7 years old, and within minutes was telling me about different stories they have read at school just by looking at the photos.  We were impressed that someone spent so much time recreating all those stories in Lego.
