Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still the master This is a great selection of stories that showcase the originality of Lovecraft's weird tales of cosmic horror. Although Lovecraft is one of the original horror masters, his work can seem very fresh and strange to modern readers who think of horror mainly as gore-and-suspense. Lovecraft's idea of horror remains essentially mysterious - horror is that unspeakable/unnameable stuff found at the very limits of human understanding and endurance. His stories immerse the reader in his universe, which is distinctive and rich. Lovecraft is unlike anything else in the horror market today. Highly recommended!
