Safe in the ivory tower...

Gabriel Miller swears he'll keep me safe. Enemies lurk outside, waiting to strike. An army held back by these walls.

Except some animal instinct warns me the danger is much closer. It's already here. Is Gabriel my protector or my enemy? Is this house a castle or a cage?

There's nowhere for me to go, no one left for me to trust.

No escape from a past determined to capture its prize.

THE CASTLE is book three in the Endgame series from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren about revenge and seduction in the game of love. This is the final novel in the story of Gabriel and Avery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Part III - Final Book On Gabriel and Avery This had to be my favorite of the series. Chess plays a large role throughout the series as you can tell from the book titles, but none so important as in book 3. Gabriel and Avery play chess every knight and there are many interesting facts on the history of chess. Sometimes chess is foreplay, sometimes it's used to reveal personal secrets between them, or to find secrets about other people on twin. Avery feels locked and trapped in Gabriel's huge mansion with security. She can gave anything she asks fie but hates being trapped. She has fallen in love with Gabriel and he wants to keep her safe, while he figures out what happened with Jonathan Scott (Damon Scott's father) who set the fire at Avery's old house where her and Gabriel nearly died escaping as Avery would not leave Gabriel trapped beneath debris in the burning house. Gabriel vows Avery is "his" and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe and protected. Though she is happy to take university courses online to study her love of Greek Mythology, and spend her nights with Gabriel, the days are often lonely and Avery swears she hears whispers as her mother did before she died. She is afraid to tell Gabriel about them even though he seems to know when she is hiding something. When she convinces Gabriel to take her out for dinner, Avery is nearly shot several times and later learns Jonathan Scott has put a price on Avery's head, that she is really his daughter and not the daughter of the man lying crippled in a hospital home, which Gabriel has been paying to care for, for Avery. Giving the man who betrayed him, the best care for Avery whom he is finding he cannot live without. As the story climaxes, Avery finds herself and Gabriel at the gentlemen' club shot and a frail young woman p, dear to Damon Scott, was raped and left to die by Jonathan Scott, Damon's monster of a father. The girl comes to stay with Avery at Gabriel's as she gets over her shock, she ends up being a great help to Avery, as Gabriel heals from being shot and still seeks the truth about Jonathan Scott and why he wants to kill Avery and have her confront him. The whispers and voices Avery thinks she hears, and truth of her repressed past come to a front as all secrets are revealed and Avery herself is traumatized. Only her love for Gabriel can bring her back.
