about

Having a father is a big responsibility.

And finding him a wife is a challenge eight-year-old Becky Jones takes seriously. Ex-rodeo cowboy Taggart Jones is adamant. No marriage. Been there. Done that.

Not even if Becky's dream candidate is her beautiful, blonde teacher, Felicity Albright, who knows about barrettes, patching up scrapes, and hates carrots as much as his daughter. Taggart’s still not interested. Much.

What's a daughter to do? Becky’s nothing if not ingenious, and she’s determined to convince a stubborn Taggart and a bemused Felicity that they really have met their match.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Humorous, spicy romance I loved the beginning of this book. It hooked me right away. Eight-year-old Becky had been looking after her father all her life and now thinks he needs a wife. So she put together a plan to find him one. The things she does to put him together with the woman she’s chosen are cute. They make perfect sense to an 8-year-old but not appreciated by an adult like her father. Becky was adorable. And her dad, Taggart, was terrific with her. He had raised her alone after his wife left them when Becky was a few months old. Taggart was happy taking his daughter with him when he went on the road bull riding, but after a serious car accident, it occurred to him that he was Becky’s only parent. He didn’t want to risk leaving her without a parent so he retired from riding bulls; opening a school where he taught the sport. This allowed him more time to be with Becky. He thought their lives were good with just the two of them and didn’t want a wife. But Becky thought her new teacher would be a perfect wife for him and a good mother for her. After all, she didn’t like carrots either. To an 8-year-old, that makes her perfect mother material. The chemistry between this couple was strong but they tried to fight their desire because he was the father of one of her students and also because he had been hurt in a relationship before. Even though this story was slow moving, it has a good storyline and it was easy to feel the attraction between these two. I liked this spicy story but thought the ending was a bit quick. Having said that, I recommend this fun, spicy romance.
