about

In the war against vampires, mankind has only one hope: The Dark-Hunters. Ancient warriors who died of brutal betrayal, the Dark-Hunters have sworn themselves into the service of the goddess Artemis to protect us.

It's a pact with pretty good perks. Immortality, power, psychic abilities, wealth and a cool wardrobe. But it comes with a few drawbacks: fatal sun poisoning and a new, irreparable dental problem. But aside from the fangs and nocturnal lifestyle, it's not so bad.

Until Kyrian meets the most frightening thing imaginable. An accountant who's being hunted by one of the most lethal vampires out there. If Amanda Devereaux goes down, so does he and no offense, he doesn't want to die (hence the whole immortality thing). And he doesn't want humanity dead either which is a good thing for us since he and Amanda are all that stands between us and oblivion. Let's hope they win.

From the wild imagination of Sherrilyn Kenyon comes the humorous and suspenseful manga debut of the #1 internationally bestselling Dark-Hunter series. The world of manga will never be the same again.

In the past two years, New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon has claimed the #1 spot twelve times, and since 2004, she has placed more than 50 novels on the New York Times list. This extraordinary bestseller continues to top every genre she writes. With more than 23 million copies of her books in print in over 30 countries...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great...But Liked the Novel More Can't say it was the best thing I've read. I can understand why they censored it - to get into the teen market - but the problem was they censored the best parts and the ones that are really important to the story itself. The art, while really nice, sort of didn't meet my expectations. It's nice that the characters finally have a face, but I really really hope that they make Valerius a lot better looking when they get to his story. (He is supposed to be the spitting image of his grandfather after all). I really did enjoy it though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A wonderful visual summary of the novel. I have been waiting for this manga for months. Each time it was delayed, I became despondant. So, after all this waiting, did it live upto my expectations? Yes and no. It is great to see one of my favourite Dark-Hunter novels, Night Pleasures, come alive in comic form. And, much of the great back-and-forth between Kyrian and Amanda was left in the dialogue. Kyrian's sarcastic humour is in tact, and all the pertinent scenes are included. However, the backstory between Cliff and Amanda could have been shown in greater detail. As well, Julian's explainations about the Dark-Hunters and Kyrian's background feel a little rushed. Although some of the characters did not appear how I imagined them, no manga could please all readers, and the manga format doesn't give as much way to detail as some others might. The biggest complaint I had was that it only covered the first half of the book. The second part, Volume 2, is not due out until 2010. Overall, I enjoyed this alternate to the basic novelized version of these stories. It is a nice summary of a wonderful Kenyon tale.
