Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Masterful Work of Fantasy Satire Diana Wynne Jones has written an irreverent, exciting and hilarious fantasy adventure story that takes a look at a magical world besieged by tourism, where an entire society has been skewed by the exploitative service industry that has been installed to cater to the off-world tourists. The story is quite mature and serious at times, but never loses Diana Wynne Jones's usual wit and compassion for her characters.
