Rated 5 out of 5 by from Addicted I have been addicted to the lord of the underworlds series since it first came out. Every book to date I have enjoyed and this one is no different. She is an amazing author and never disappoints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Book This was one of my favorites in the Lords of the Underworld series and I would strongly suggest reading it. It was nice having a romance where the two were not instantly in love, but had to work hard at having a relationship. #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Solid Installment - Lords of the Underworld Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have enjoyed Gena Showalter's books for many years- both her teen and her paranormal romance titles. I was particularly excited to receive this book - the latest in a series I've followed through the years. I went into it not knowing who the main characters were; but I was not disappointed. Baden is a recently freed from hell lord of the underworld. He is tormented by his past, not to mention some side effects from his deal with the devil, and is trying to come back to the land of the living (and live peacefully with his brothers). The story between Baden and Katarina did not involve insta-love (something that made me happy!); their story begins when he takes her hostage while trying to retrieve a precious item. It was definitely more of an 'I hate you' beginning. I found the story between Katarina and Baden well-fleshed out; both have endured years of suffering (although for Baden it's more like centuries), and seeing them struggle to trust each other and open up to each other made for a great story. Other favourite characters also play roles in the book and provide some comic relief. Now, I know that many readers would have preferred a Gilly and William story, or for Cameo to have a happy ending, but I think the build-up to their stories is just going to make them better. Be warned, though, Showalter throws in some surprises and not everyone will be happy with the revelations in this book.
