The one woman he will never forget…

Malcolm Bevingstoke, Duke of Haven, has lived the last three years in self-imposed solitude, paying the price for a mistake he can never reverse and a love he lost forever. The dukedom does not wait, however, and Haven requires an heir, which means he must find himself a wife by summer’s end. There is only one problem—he already has one.

The one man she will never forgive…

After years in exile, Seraphina, Duchess of Haven, returns to London with a single goal—to reclaim the life she left and find happiness, unencumbered by the man who broke her heart. Haven offers her a deal; Sera can have her freedom, just as soon as she finds her replacement…which requires her to spend the summer in close quarters with the husband she does not want, but somehow cannot resist.

A love that neither can deny…

The duke has a single summer to woo his wife and convince her that, despite their broken past, he can give her forever, making every day

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dramatic and Deep As with all other Sarah MacLean books, I find myself looking forward to and yet dreading her latest novels. Unlike the usual historical romance fluff, her books are made of stronger stuff, and I'm always left feeling a bit anxious before I start one of novels - when will it happen that I get sucked into some tragedy and have to claw my way out of it in this book?! Of course, there's always happy endings, but it's a struggle to get there with her novels. At the end, I always realize that the ending was well worth the journey but my goodness, there's always some sort of suffering! Just like life I guess! This book was really wonderful - Seraphina and Mal's story. They are already married and yet it this book takes you through the relationship where they finally get to know one another. Mal has a depth that you wouldn't have anticipated at the beginning. He is truly magnificent at the end. This book is worth going through their pain to come out with their happiness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Day of the Duchess I enjoyed this book. It made you go from hating Mal to rooting for him.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4.5 stars I started reading this for Sera and stayed for Mal. Sarah MacLean did an incredible job redeeming Mal to the point where he overshadowed Sera in her own story and took ownership of my heart. I would have rated this higher if it weren't for what Sera did at the very end of the book. I won't elaborate more, but I still highly recommend this book for readers who enjoy second chance romances with lots of angst!

Editorial Reviews

“Witty banter, entertaining secondary characters and a poignant use of Greek myth are the delicious icing on this lovely, romantic story.”
