From Our Editors
Stephen King takes the horror genre to new heights with this richly textured novel that follows the plight of a quiet schoolteacher who, after a horrific car crash, discovers he has the ability to see into the future. Rather than viewing this power as a gift, Johnny Smith is tormented by his second sight, which thrusts him into the path of a dangerous, powerful man whom he must stop. The Dead Zone is a supernatural thriller that finds King in top form; it was also turned into a critically acclaimed film by Canadian director David Cronenberg.
