Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes kitchen time but pretty easy!! I'm on day 7 of that 'stat' part and so far have lost 4.5 lbs. It might have been more had I been 100% on the diet. But after saying that I am about 85% on it. I follow the food I'm allowed to eat ... but have had some gummy bears and mini choc bars which of course are not included but I cannot go cold turkey. I thought breakfast would be hard for me since I'm a big 'kid' cereal eater but swtiched to whole wheat english muffins with WOW butter (and sometimes honey which is not allowed but soo good) and blueberries on the side and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. Being a shift working diets are hard to follow, but this is really easy and its a whole lifestyle change. Could I eat like this forever ... YES! I'm sold. I have never written a review before so that fact that I am says something. Try it, it will take some kitchen time, but its worth it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am currently seeing imediate results I have purchase the book after Dr. Stork's appearance on Dr. Phil. I started the Stat plan and have lost 8lbs. in three days. I feel that it's an easy meal plan to follow. The book had a lot of information that was not relevant to me as I'm very aware of health and how it effects my life and my body. I needed something to follow as suggestive meal plans, the recipes are simple. The anytime vegetable soup is great, I added way more vegetables from the free food selection and it's delicious, my toddler loves it and my boyfriend ate it no problem. If you take from this book what you need, you will be successful. I can't wait to try the Garlic-Rosemary Mashed Cauliflower. I give the book five stars. I have recommended the book to a friend how has lost 1.5 lbs. overnight from the first day she started the stat plan.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A decent idea but does not address entire family I saw Dr. Stork on Dr. Phil and was interested in perusing his book as I was looking for new healthier food options. The entire city was sold out of it, so I ordered it online. I'm not really sold on this book and wish I would've been able to see it prior to me ordering it. He doesn't really introduce anything that we haven't heard before. Don't eat high sugared foods? You don't say.....Don't eat fast food? ok.....Stay away from processed garbage? okily dokily.....Decrease sodium/salt intake? Thats pure rocket science! (however, throughout the book, he recommends canned food???). I bought this with the hope of being able to have a healthier lifestyle for my family, but this book is completely individualized, and really only meant for the person attempting to lose weight. It doesn't work if I want to cook for my family....I'm busy enough that cooking 2 suppers a day is not going to work for me. In addition to that, he states that the meals are all easy to make, but they really aren't. They do take a bit of time. We aren't lazy cookers....we cook everything from scratch; however, like I said, this won't work for my children (especially when he recommends curry and chili pepper as a spice with so many of his recipes - my toddler will not eat that).  Also, he starts by saying that he isn't going to restrict anything in your diet, but the STAT plan is a huge restriction! I eat pretty healthy, I was just looking to tune up my way of eating following the birth of my child, but basically, even with the healthier choices I am making, I'm eating completely wrong, according to the STAT plan. And, he doesn't address breastfeeding mothers at all, nor people who have an increased activity lifestyle until you are out of the STAT/Restore stage. In addition, book was WAY too wordy. I didn't find it interesting enough to maintain my attention for long periods of time. 300 page book that could have been cut down to 100 pages and still have given the same information. All in all, I find this to be a wordy book that is essentially a diabetic diet, nothing new and/or exciting in his advice. Not overly impressed.
