Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good I'm not vegan, but looking to eat healthier meals. This vegan cookbook is by far the second best one I've tried. The recipes are simple and easy to make, although some of the ingredients are a bit hard to find and I had to go to a specialty vegan store for it. Other than that, it's pretty darn good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Recipes are pretty good, but lot's of fried food and Thai food which I'm not a fan of. The book doesn't stay open by itself very easily, I have to put heavy things on either side when I'm cooking. Also the names of the foods are silly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I bought this when I had to remove soy, chickpeas, and lentils from my diet- having the seitan recipe she wrote has made a huge difference. The beef seitan is so good! And my partner is Vietnamese and was shocked to see a proper pho recipe- one that she regularly requests now (along with the chicken seitan in it!). I've not made it through the whole book but the patties are next up on our list for dinner items!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great gift This book will make a great gift for someone just starting their journey with veganism or any die hard carnivore. Just like the cover says, carnivore approved. I love the fact that there are many staples in the book like different types of vegan bacon and sauces along with some more complex recipes. Maybe this will be the day I actually get seitan right? One thing I really love about it is that it veganizes some of my family and friends favourite foods which means I only have to make one meal when they visit.

You're following a recipe online, and you need to scroll or the screen goes black. Your hands are covered in flour, the pot is boiling too quickly, and there's no time to wash your hands. Ah!!! Thankfully, YouTube recipe curator Candice Hutchings (aka, The Edgy Veg) released her first cookbook so you don't have to worry about messing up your computer keys. Known for veganizing animal-based comfort foods such as Crunchy Taco Wrap Supreme, Drunken Fish and Chips, and Sriracha Beer Waffles, Hutchings' recipes require some preparation time and a solid list of ingredients, but (as we've discovered) the wait is worth the work.
