Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy Read The Fall of Candy Corn by Debbie Viguié was a book about Halloween. I don’t know about you but I love Halloween. Even if I get scared very easily, it is still one of my favourite celebrations. I love the rush of getting scared and not knowing what will happen, like when you are in a maze for instance. I also enjoy seeing everyone dressed in costumes. Dressing up used to be one of my favourite parts of Halloween, aside from the candy that is. This novel was about Halloween, but was also about relationships with friends, family and those who are more than friends. It will teach you the true meaning of friendship and what having a “true friend” is like. In addition to this, the novel also features a bit of mystery. This is because when problems start occurring at the Halloween amusement park, employees become worried that they are next on the hit list. I will not say any more than that, as you must read the novel to discover what I am talking about. Finally, I don’t know if you are beginning to see a common trend with this but I often find myself reading the second novel in a trilogy without having read the first and with next to no desire to read the third. For this novel, I do not want to read the third novel as I am happy with how this novel ended and I am worried the character’s life will turn into something negative. At the end of the novel, everything is working out for Candace after many difficult situations. All in all, I would recommend this novel as an easy read for homework breaks. It is easy to follow and contains enjoyable plot progressions. If you read this novel, which I recommend, you will find yourself laughing, crying and smiling along with Candace.
