about

All your questions are answered in the fifth book in James Dashner’s #1 New York Times  bestselling Maze Runner series. The story that fans all over the world have been waiting for — the story of how Thomas and WICKED built the Maze  is finally here. You do not want to miss it.

Once there was a world’s end.
The forests burned, the lakes and rivers dried up, and the oceans swelled.
Then came a plague, and fever spread across the globe. Families died, violence reigned, and man killed man.
Next came WICKED, who were looking for an answer. And then they found the perfect boy.
The boy’s name was Thomas, and Thomas built a maze.
    Now there are secrets.
    There are lies.
And there are loyalties history could never have foreseen.
This is the story of that boy, Thomas, and how he built a maze that only he could tear down.
    All will be revealed.

A prequel to the worldwide Maze Runner phenomenon, The Fever Code is the book that holds all the answers. How did WICKED find the Gladers? Who are Group B? And what side are Thomas and Teresa really on? Lies will be exposed. Secrets will be uncovered. Loyalties will be proven. Fans will never see the truth coming. Before there was the Maze, there was The Fever Code.
Don’t miss The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, now major motion pictures from Twentieth Century Fox, starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rosa Salazar, Giancarlo Esposito, and Aidan Gillen. And look for James Dashner’s new bestselling series the Mortality Doctrine: The Eye of Minds, The Rule of Thoughts, and The Game of Lives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Book This book was fantastic because it showed what it was like at WICKED before the Maze Trials took place. I wasn't a big fan of Teresa to begin with, but I started to like her more throughout the book..... until the very end when I disliked her again. And Aris, I expected better from you! I still love this book, though. Definitely a must read!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting and Good Read I enjoyed finding more about Newt and Thomas and Teresa. It opens your eyes to why they are the way they are. It's infuriating and the Dashner really paints a picture letting you understand the characters more. I always love a good origin story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This broke my heart This prequel was absolutely stunning, and now that I'm rereading The Maze Runner after I ended the Fever Code, it's 100 times wore because **** SPOILER ALERT ***** Newt, Minho, Alby, Teresa, Chuck, and Thomas were so close, and they lost all that the moment they got into the maze. Wonderful work.#plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the wait I really enjoyed this book. It gave us an opportunity to reenter the world of the Maze Runner and spend time with the characters we've grown to love. All portrayals of the Gladers, especially Minho, Alby and Thomas, were true to their older selves, as described in the main trilogy. Though I was really hoping to learn more from different characters' perspectives, hearing the story from Thomas' point of view was not as bad as I thought it would be (I wasn't a big fan of Thomas in the main trilogy). The story was exciting and worrying and I reread it twice in the three weeks that I had the book. I Immediately wanted to reread the trilogy, but that'll have to wait till another day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So excited! Dang this is just awesome! Reading the first few chapters already and I can't wait to return back to it when I'm done my homework!!!!
Date published: 2016-11-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It was good. It was good. I think a little unnecessary considering we already had a prequel to the series and didn't need another but it was nevertheless a chilling addition. Gave some good insight into their history and especially the history of the councillor (Ava) though I think there was the plot hole of having Alby and them all go together into the maze. I thought that each of them went in one by one and that Alby was there for a month by himself? Or was that only in the movie. Not a must read but if you enjoy the series I wouldn't turn it away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a-MAZE-ing!!!! This book made me rethink the boundaries of good and evil, and my life in general. Great addition to one of the best book series I've ever read.
