Hannah Carter doesn’t know it yet, but she’s a walking, talking weapon of mass destruction—and she could go off at any moment.
For 17-year-old Hannah, college can’t come quickly enough. Her standing Friday night dates with Netflix have lost their allure, and her overprotective parents’ ban on cell phones embarrasses her to no end. Her closest brush with excitement is the unsettling vision that occasionally haunts her sleep. When Hannah discovers that the exact same nightmare plagues three of her classmates, the teens enter into an uneasy alliance. They soon realize they are united by far more than a dream—they also share a puzzling ability to generate intense heat. Hannah revels in her new talent, until she finds herself unable to power down.
To ensure that Hannah has a future, the teens must race to unravel the secrets of their past. All the while, they struggle to come to terms with the terrifying power that is less their gift than their curse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Book is on Fire I received an advance copy of The Fire Inside and could not put it down. The book is an exciting tale weaved from the points of view of the four main characters of what happens when super powers and regular teenagers collide. I could not wait to discover how and why the four teenagers share the same heat generating power and if they could figure out how to control their powers before it is too late. The thought-provoking conclusion is not what I expected but leaves me hoping Ryan Cornish is cooking up a sequel.
