Rated 5 out of 5 by from A significant book for understanding the origins of Christianity This is an amazing book by two well known and well respected biblical scholars. They make a strong case that what the Gospel writers were writing was not history as we understand it, but about a theology to counter the theology of ancient Rome. Borg and Crossan help us to find new meaning in the ancient stories of Jesus birth.
