about

“Entirely satisfying, an expert balance of warmth and compassion, terrific supporting characters, a little steamy sex, and just enough suspense to keep you from guessing how it will all go down.”
—*Atlanta Journal-Constitution*

A sassy, sexy, sometimes poignant look at small town Southern life, as only New York Times bestseller Mary Kay Andrews can tell it, The Fixer Upper is a must-read for fans of Fannie Flagg, Sophie Kinsella, the Ya-Yas, and the Sweet Potato Queens, and for every reader obsessed with decorating and home repair. It is a truly delectable story of a woman whose professional fall from grace lands her back in a hometown she never knew, amongst a gothic Southern family she’s never met, and saddled with a task she could never have imagined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious from beginning to end! I often say, if you are reading a book alone in a room and your burst out laughing because it is so funny, then it is a good read!! I love this story, it teaches us that we all should be a little bit less superficial and a lot less shallow. The book has gone around my office and everyone loved it as much as me and went and bought their own copy after to share with their friends! I highly recommend this book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favourites! This book is absolutely one of my all-time favourite novels. As a larger lady myself, it was so wonderful to finally find a writer who writes an amazing character like this. I love Cannie, love this book, and also love the sequel (Certain Girls).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute! I don't mean that as an insult by any means either! There's plenty of room in our everyday lives for a book like this that provide a wonderful distraction from all the "heavy stuff" that winds us up so tight. Mary Kay Andrews is one of my favorite authors to escape with and she does it so well every time!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from . While it's sad how people treat Holly, it's rather realistic. Logan isn't realistic, just the rude reaction-treatment she gets from all. I enjoyed the humor and it has just the right amount of steamy details. Great book.
