Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Flavour Principle Great photos. Interesting organization, by flavour. Took some getting used to but definitely worth it. Have already used it a couple of times. It is also nice to use the wine suggestions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wanted it; hummed and hawed; got it; love it. This was not just another cookbook for me as I am a follower of both the authors, Lucy (online and in the Globe and Mail) and Beppi (in the G&M) so familiarity with their food and drink approaches made me want it from the day they began this collaboration. Something I like in it is the makability of Lucy's recipes, if I can find the ingredients in my small town, that is. I have a section for Lucy alone, in one of my fat three-ring binders and hers are one of the first I go to when I want a recipe I trust. Beppi writes mostly for Canadian vinophiles(?) with frequent mentions of wines available in B.C., which I appreciate. The book is good one to take to a comfy chair, with all the great food information; who knew--some people don't tasty bitter, some do and love it, and others do, and can't stand it? Then they give you a selection of bitter foods recipes to try, along with tipples that go well with them. I've only had the book for a week or so, but looking forward to getting further into it. Only disappointment: I'm so far from TO, there is likely no way I'll ever have it autographed!
