Books of All Time, The Game is a reflective and thought provoking look at a life in hockey. Intelligent and insightful, former Montreal Canadiens goalie and former President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ken Dryden captures the essence of the sport and what it means to all hockey fans. He gives us vivid and affectionate portraits of the players that made the Canadiens of the 1970s one of the greatest hockey teams in history. But beyond that, Dryden reflects on life on the road, in the spotlight, and on the ice, offering up a rare inside look at the game of hockey and an incredible personal memoir.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a book you will want to save- Just like the goalie I read many hockey related books, and most have some ghost writing, or a good story that is badly written. This book is articulate, insightful, yet brings the excitement of Canada's game to the printed page.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A classic text that still scores. Hockey is the greatest game and one of the goalie greats is Ken Dryden. He writes with insight of the life of hockey and its players. This book has been updated. A book that is being read 30 years later shows how timeless the book is. The fans still love to read it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting but somewhat dull Dryden should remember that not all hockey fans are intellectual giants or literary professors and write to the true fans of hockey. Still historians of the game might enjoy this book.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from IT had its moments Although it was a decent read Dryden should perhaps try not to write in a manner that appeals to only those who watch hockey on TV or attend games as a status symbol. The true fans are much different.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting but... #plumreview A unique take on Canada's game, but it does suffer from some overbearing pretentiousness.
