Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The best of an excellent series The fourth and last book in the Threshold series resolves many of the plotlines and answers many of the questions that arose during the other three. The Fallen former angels are making their fiercest attack, and Prissie Pomeroy must learn to accept the departure of a friend, and to accept the friendship of someone she has always seen as a rival. This conclusion to the series doesn't offer an easy happy ending, but includes aspects of the joyful, the poignant and the resigned - an ending both more meaningful and more believable than if everything concluded positively. As with the other books in the series, 'The Garden Gate' will be most thoroughly enjoyed by Christian tween- and teenaged readers. But an imaginative setting, engaging characterisation, and excellent writing make it worth reading for anyone who appreciates fantasy.
