A permit to teach must not be issued to a person under the age of 18 years. Teacher's Contract Not Affected By Change In Organization Of District. A contract made and entered into between a general school district and a teacher is not modified by reason of an organization of said general district into a special district during the time for which the contract was made, and the district is not relieved from the fulfillment of the obligation. Elections. Terms Of Officers. No vacancy exists to be filled by appointment when a school board fails to hold an election at the time prescribed in article IV of the general school laws. The officers whose terms expire and whose successors would have to be chosen at a regular election do not vacate their office but hold until their successors are duly elected and qualified agreeably to the provisions of section 67o Revised Codes. Regular Meetings Of Board. Salary. Section 681 Revised Codes, provides for four regular meetings to be held by the district school board. Section 717, amended, provides that the board shall meet on the Tuesday succeeding the regular meeting of the school board in each year. These two sections make it obligatory upon the board to hold five regular meetings each year. As the maximum pay allowed each director under section 681, is eight dollars per annum, this provision includes not only the regular meetings fixed by section 681, but the meeting fixed by section 717, and no additional salary can be allowed for the fifth regular meeting.
